In 2013, Effo made the transformative decision to relocate to Grand Junction, a place where nature's beauty beckoned with open arms. It was here that they discovered a profound connection to the wilderness, embracing a wide range of exhilarating activities, from skiing down snow-covered slopes to embarking on breathtaking hiking expeditions.

However, it was in the year 2020 that Effo’s life took a thrilling turn. The allure of the mountains called out to them in a new way, and they discovered the exhilarating world of mountain biking. From the very first pedal stroke, they were hooked, immersing themselves in the art of navigating rugged trails, conquering challenging terrain, and experiencing the sheer joy of flying through the wilderness on two wheels.

Driven by their newfound passion, Effo embarked on a mission to make a positive impact on the mountain bike community. She joined the board of the Roam Collective, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering inclusivity and increasing the representation of marginalized riders in the vibrant world of mountain biking. With their deep commitment to equality and their love for the sport, Effo strives to create a more diverse and welcoming community where everyone feels empowered to experience the wonders of mountain biking.
